Born in 1972, plays since 1989 and began studying music in 1993. He has always been appassionate about hard rock and progressive, after playing in local bands, in 1996 he moine Projecto, a power-metal band from Savona with which he recorded two albums (Projecto,1998 and Crown of Ages, 2000) and a song for a Savatage tribute (A Tribute to Savatage – Return of the mountain king), all for the Undergroun Symphony label. The band also recorded a cover of Warlord’s ‘Deliver Us’,never released on record, however.
In 2002, he joined Beggar’s Farm, a Jethro Tull tribute band, with whom he played steadily until 2005 and continued until around 2010.With them he recorded some live tracks on the CD ‘Itullians’ and on other fan club CDs, with songs from the repertoire of Jethro Tull, PFM, Genesis.
He plays pieces by De Andre’ together with Aldo Ascolese, and participates in live concerts and conventions where plays with Bernardo Lanzetti and Giorgio Piazza (PFM) , Rodolfo Maltese (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso), Mick Abrahams, Clive Bunker, Jonathan Noyce, Dave Pegg, Glenn Cornick (Jethro Tull), as well as attending the Jethro Tull’s 40th anniversary convention in Alessandria in 2008 where there were past and present members of Jethro Tull, including Ian Anderson.
In 2010 he started playing with the Marcello Chiaraluce Band, which later became a trio.
After a CD already under his belt, ‘On A Winter Walk’ in 2007, he entered the studio for the recording of ‘Cryme Of The Rhyme”, a second CD that saw the light in 2014 and plays it in its entirety. The genre is rock, in all its nuances. In 2016 the third CD was released, “When The Dollhouse Burns”, a work played as a trio, much more direct and mature than the previous one.
With Chiaraluce, in addition to having shared face the stage with Beggar’s Farm, he has the opportunity to open a concert for Modena City Ramblers, and to play, among others, with Roberto Tiranti, Tolo Marton, Paolo Bonfanti, Giorgio Piazza, Aldo Tagliapietra.
In 2009 he met Mauro Montobbio and joined Narrow Pass, a progressive band where a collaboration began and a friendship that lasts to this day.
Thanks to Montobbio he met Vincenzo Ricca and recorded 4 songs on the album ‘The Rome Pro(g)ject , together with David Cross (King Crimson), Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco), John Hackett, Steve Hackett (Genesis, Gtr, SH Electric Band),David Jackson (VDGG), Nick Magnus, Richard Sinclair (Caravan, Hatfield and the North, Camel) among others, which also contains an original piece by Narrow Pass, ‘In And Around The Colosseum’.

Also beginning is the adventure of the third Narrow Pass album “A New Day’, which saw the light of day in December 2014, a great work of progressive rock that was well reviewed around the world on which plays also John Hackett. 2016 also saw the release of ‘The Rome Pro(g)ject II – Of Fate and Glory, with Steve Hackett , David Jackson (VDGG), Billy Sherwood (Yes/Circa/Solo) and Vincenzo Ricca, where he plays in 2 songs.
Worth mentioning is the collaboration with Last Rites, a Thrash-Death Metal band from Savona with the song ‘Psycho Killer’, recorded over 20 years ago, and the song ‘Fallen Brother – Glory to the Brave’, contained on the album ‘Nemesis’.
It is also worth mentioning the project “Lady Miriam’ project. with ‘Guardian Angel’,where we find members of Narrow Pass together with Alessandro Corvaglia (La Maschera DiCera). From autumn 2019, he joins the power-prog metal band Mindlight.
2020 also sees the release of ‘The Rome Pro(g)ject IV, where we find big names of international prog and which contains some of the tracks from the previous records rearranged.
Also in 2020, the first album by The Ikan Method, a neoprogressive rock project where all songs are written by Luca, who plays drums and keyboards, in together with Marcello Chiaraluce,Fabio Zunino (Projecto, Shadows of steel), Davide Garbarino (Mindlight),with appearances by Giacomo Grosso (flute) and Piergiorgio Abba (Projecto, Armalite, Nathan).
The disc is well recensored both in Italy and abroad.
In 2022, Luca returns the favour to Piergiorgio Abba by playing almost the entire Nathan new album, ‘uomini di sabbia’.
The genre is still progressive rock, and we find Giulio Smeragliuolo of Mindlight on guitars.
And we arrive in 2023 with the first record by Mindlight, ‘N.A.M.I.’. Very powerful and catchy prog metal that is having a very good response everywhere.
